The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) or NEET PG is a qualifying and ranking examination in India, for students who wish to study various postgraduate Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS) and diploma courses, in government or private medical colleges in the country. This exam replaced All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE).

The exam is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The counseling and seat allotment is conducted by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will conduct the Counseling for the same in the online mode at mcc.nic.in. According to the latest notification, NBE has released the result cum merit list for AIQ Counseling 2022. Official sources confirmed that the Counseling will begin on September 1. However, the NEET PG Counseling schedule is expected to be announced soon at mcc.nic.in.
Earlier, MCC released an office stating that as part of its effort to make the process of generating PWD certificates transparent and hassle-free, the MCC IS developing software for eligible candidates participating in the Counseling under the PWD category. All applicants who applied under the PWD category must get their PWD certificates from the designated center through an online mode to participate the same.
The official schedule will be announced soon. The dates will be updated here when announced. Earlier, the result was announced on June 1 at nbe.edu.in. This year MCC will conduct 4 rounds of NEET 2022, as follows: All India Quota Counseling – round 1, round 2, mop-up round, and stray vacancy round. Through the Counseling, the AIQ fresh registrations will be allowed in the first three rounds and not in the spot round. During the Counseling, candidates have to register, pay fees and fill out their choice of courses and colleges. Based on the choices filled by the graduates and seat availability admission will be granted.
Based on Counseling, 26,168 Doctor of Medicine (MD), 13,649 Master of Surgery (MS), 922 PG Diploma, and 1,338 DNB CET seats will be filled. A total of 6,102 colleges and 649 hospitals will participate in the 2022 Counseling. Types of Counseling for NEET Postgraduate Course
The NEET PG 2022 result by the NBE is used for Counseling and the seat allotment process. As mentioned above, the Counseling for 50% AIQ and 100% deemed and central universities, ESIC, and AFMS seats will be conducted by MCC. ● The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the MCC will conduct the NEET PG Counseling for admission to 50% seats under AIQ and 100% seats in deemed and central universities and ESIC institutes.
● The Counseling PG Counseling registration will be done for all aforementioned institutes, which can be done through a single window.
● For 50% AIQ seats in government institutes, four rounds of Counseling of NEET PG will be conducted.
● For 100% seats in deemed and central universities, MCC will conduct an additional mop-up round after the second round of NEET PG Counseling.

Step 1: NEET PG Counseling registration
● To register for the Counseling of NEET PG, click on the registration link Counseling above
● Enter details such as name, date of birth, roll number, NEET PG application form number, security code, and other relevant information
● Verify the details and submit them carefully
● Login credentials for NEET PG Counseling will be generated
● After login Counseling with all details such as parents’ details, contact details, category, and nationality
● Enter NEET PG details such as application number and roll number
Step 2: Payment of registration fee
● Pay the category-wise registration fee for Counseling of NEET PG 2022. It must be noted that the registration fee for NEET PG Counseling is non-refundable.
● Pay the security deposit according to the category. The security deposit is refundable, however, can be fortified in certain circumstances during Counseling of NEET PG.
● Payment of NEET PG Counseling fee can be made only via online mode.

Step 3: Counseling registration slip
● After successful payment of NEET PG Counseling fee, registration slip for the candidates will be generated.
● Download the registration slip.
● Take a printout of the slip for future reference.
Step 4: Counseling choice filling and locking
● Visit the MCC website for Counseling of NEET PG
● Login using the credentials – stream (medical/dental), roll number, and password
● Start filling your choices of course and college for NEET PG seat allotment
● To add a new choice click on the ‘+’ button
● To rearrange the order of any choice, drag the choice to the desired position
● Once satisfied with the choices filled, click on ‘save and next’ to lock the choices.
● If a candidate forgets to lock the choices filled, they will be automatically locked.
● Aspirants need to verify the choices locked as the NEET PG seat allotment will be done based on choices filled.
● Candidates can take a printout of their filled choices for future reference.
● Same steps are to be followed for all rounds of MCC NEET PG Counseling.
Seat allotment
After completing the registration process for round one of NEET PG Counseling, DGHS will conduct the seat allotment processing. NEET PG seat allotment 2022 will be done based on, NEET PG rank, choices of colleges & courses filled, seats available, reservation criteria, and other factors. Based on these factors, the result of Counseling will be released on the MCC website after seat allotment processing. The NEET PG seat allotment result 2022 will be released in the form of a PDF. The NEET PG Counseling result PDF will mention the details of the candidate, rank secured, institute allotted, course allotted, and remarks.
MCC will release the NEET PG 2022 seat allotment letters for shortlisted candidates on the official portal. NEET PG allotment letter will mention the date ails of the candidate, rank secured by the candidate, marks scored in the NEET PG exam, the category under which admission is granted, college allotted, and the reporting schedule for securing admission. Then, the shortlisted candidates in the MCC NEET PG 2022 Counseling will be required to report to the allotted college.
Candidates must report to the allotted college for document verification and confirm their NEET PG 2022 admission. Candidates will have to pay the complete tuition fee to secure their seat allotted during NEET PG rank-wise seat allotment. What after Counseling round 1?
After the release of the NEET PG 2022 seat allotment for Counseling round one, candidates will be required to follow the steps mentioned below based on their status.
1. Free exit: The seat allotted in the first round of MCC NEET PG Counseling will be canceled if a candidate does not report to the allotted institute within the stipulated time. Such an option is referred to as ‘free exit.’
2. Accepting the seat allotted in round one: If a candidate who has been allotted a seat in the first round of Counseling is satisfied with the allotted seat they can report to the allotted institute and secure their seat by paying the tuition fee.
3. Upgradation in round 2: If a candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotted to them, they can opt for upgradation and participate in the second round of Counseling.
Counseling round two
The process of the second round of Counseling will be the same as that of round one. During Counseling round two, new candidates will be required to register and pay the registration fee. However, filling fresh choices of courses and colleges will be mandatory for all the candidates willing to participate in round two of admission.
Who are eligible for Counseling round two
● Candidates not allotted any seat in Counseling round one
● Candidates whose seat allotted in admission round one got canceled in physical document verification
● Candidates willing for up-gradation of the seat in the second round of Counseling
● Candidates who opted for free exit or did not participate in the Counseling of round one.
Candidates participating in round two of Counseling must note that there is no option of ‘free exit’ in the second round of Counseling. If a candidate does not secure his admission 2022 in the college/seat allotted during round two, his/her refundable security deposit will be forfeited.
Counseling mop-up round
● The mop-up round of Counseling will be conducted only for admission to deemed and central universities and ESIC institutes.
● Fresh registration: Candidates who exited either round one or round two of Counseling by not reporting to the allotted college will be required to register again for the mop-up round.
● No new registration: Candidates who did not get any seats either in round one or in round two of Counseling will not be required to register again for a mop-up round.
● Choice filling: All candidates will have to fill fresh choices of courses and colleges.
● Seat allotment: The seat allotment of the mop-up round will be published on the official website.
Counseling for state quota seats
● Respective state authorities will conduct the Counseling of for the remaining 50% state quota seats and 100% seats in private institutes.
● State quota Counseling process is being conducted after the declaration of result by the NBE.
● Through state quota Counseling, 50% of seats in government colleges and 100% of seats in private colleges in the state will be filled.
● Every state will release an application form for Counseling for state admission.
● Candidates must fulfill the required eligibility criteria such as minimum NEET PG cutoff, academic qualification, domicile, and other criteria to participate in state Counseling 2022.
● Counseling conducting authority will release the NEET PG state merit list of eligible candidates.
● Candidates will be required to fill in their preference of colleges and courses and upload relevant documents during NEET PG Counseling for state quota seats.
● Based on choices filled, NEET PG 2022 state rank, reservation criteria, and other factors, candidates will be allotted MD, MS, and PG diploma seats in the state.
